The green grass swaying in the breeze, the odd bird singing in the sky, the peace and quiet.
Good images, but all wrong. Nala was out of place, in the extreme. She glanced about, eyes darting to and fro, catious and alert. It had been two days since she had arrived. Two very long days. A hand reached up and ran through her long hair. Her hand. She had hands! Where were her soft velvet paws, with the hidden deadly claws? Perfect for stalking prey and moving unnoticed. They had just gone, and been replaced by... hands. Fingers.
She was human! It was such a difficult thought to process. How could such a thing ever occur? Nala remembered going on a hunting trip, something she was good at. But she grew tired, too a rest. Upon awakening, she knew something was wrong. She was in a forest, but not the one she had fallen asleep in. Perplexed, and shocked but not scared she had stood up, only to realise that it felt wrong being on all fours. And that instead.... She had legs. Arms. Long hair. Long limbs. Less keen smell, her hearing not so great...
Nala sighed softly, but remained on alert as she looked about the park. The bench she was sitting on was uncomfortable - or was that just her? It had been strange and hard learning to walk on two feet. To do human things. Just what had happened to her?
And more importantly... Where was her family? Simba? Was he alright? Kiara? Was she safe? Was she scared? Did she need her family? And Kovu... The newest edition... Was he okay? Did he need her help? She needed her family. She wanted to be around them, make sure they were okay. She would find them. She'd look and find them... But where was she to start?

Kitty couldn't really remember when she had gotten to this place. She'd been here long enough to grab herself a job or two. So maybe a week or so. Still she was getting used to this place. She was rather glad that she could blend in and seemingly fade away. People always jumped when they saw her seeming come out of no where. However Kitty was sad that she couldn't just fade away like she could when she was a cat. The human body apparently didn't let you do that. At times Kitty wanted to actually curl up on paws or even for the odd lick her own paws but that wasn't something that could be done. She was human after all. At least she was a smart cat and could come up with a name that would basically not allow anyone in this place to know that she'd once been a cat or anything like that. Cheshie never really had a name except for being called The Cheshire Cat.
Kitty shrugged it off and walked off towards the park. She was bored and a bored cat always had something up its sleeves be they human or not. That was what was odd. She had her cat like instincts but was no longer a cat. She wanted to see the hatter and everyone else. She'd do well with never seeing the Red Queen again though. But the Hatter always had something that would amuse her and well the rest...it just felt wrong to not have them around. She nearly ran into a bench having not been actually paying attention. It took her only seconds to see another person sitting there but something felt in the least bit familiar. Or rather that this person was going through what she'd gone through when she'd first realized what was going on.
"Hello. You look a bit lost might I help you?" A smile came over her features. She was willing to help out anyone really. Of course this person smelled like a well like another feline. Not that Kitty's nose knew what it was smelling. The human body was such an odd thing. She waited patiently for the other to say something to her.

Nala was day dreaming, thinking about the dreaded day she had arrived and of all the things she needed to do and get organised - like hunting! Humans hunted, yes, but not like lions. They had other means of doing that, and it just didn't seem to be the proper or polite thing to do. Instead they had... Shops. It was just plain strange to her. But she was still trying to adjust. Work things out. Hopefully things would settle down and she'd get to thinking straight - but until that moment when things seemed clear, she was just going to have get on with things and get about as best she could. Maybe talking to people would help, but her feline instincts - though hidden and buried deep there was still a trace of them - were telling her that she couldn't just go up to people and ask them things. She didn't know who to trust for one thing, for another, she had noticed that no one she had seen just randomly went up to others and began to talk. Much like the Pride Lands in that sense, she supposed. But it just seemed as though animals were more free than these humans. They looked so uptight over every little thing! It was driving her mad!
As her lips curled down, in a look that in a lion would have meant a growl, she was shaken from her thoughts as the rickety old bench moved. For a second she wasn't sure what had happened, until she noticed a girl, or young woman, standing next to the bench. She relaxed, and uncurled the fists she hadn't known she had been making. She shook herself lightly, straightening up and placing a smile on her face. Nala wasn't usually an angry or serious lioness person - though she had her moments of matureness, she was still almost as playful as she had used to be as little cub, and had retained her kindness and her need to look after and be with others. As she looked over the young woman, she sensed something... odd. Different. Not like the other humans in the place. Nala's smiled remained on her face as the young woman spoke, though the smile turned slightly sheepish as she realised she had been caught. "Is it so obvious that I'm not from these parts? she thought to herself before pleasantly replying, "I didn't think I stood out so much. I... I suppose you could say that I'm a little lost."
Or very lost, she thought to herself. She didn't even know the name of where she was. She had been to caught up in thoughts of turning human and not knowing where her family was. She was going to go crazy if she couldn't find them! Nala cleared her throat and then continued, "Would you think me crazy if I ask where I am? Either way I'm still going to ask." She smiled up at the young woman.

Kitty had a way of knowing when people were lost and confused. She saw it alot in her beloved Wonderland. She was hoping that on one of her little trips out she's see the Hatter or even Alice. She did dearly miss the all and all the antics. A sad look came across her face but it changed again into a half smile even before most people could realize the sad look. However the sadness lingered in her eyes. If she was here could it be that they'd soon be here too. After all it wasn't like she'd died or anything like that. This was just a new place and the people around here didn't seem to realize that the new visitors to the place were not what they expected. Getting used to a human skin was not something that Cheshie had ever thought she was going to need to do. She wanted her fading abilities back like they had been in Wonderland. That at least seemed to keep people entertained and or laughing depending on the situation and what body part she left floating around. She sighed to herself knowing full well that she wasn't going to do that again for awhile. Not until she figured out how to get back to Wonderland.
The female sitting on the bench finally looked up at her. She nodded her head a little bit. "Only about as much as I did when I first got here. The people wouldn't really pay me any mind when they came through the park. After I found my way here. Most people wouldn't be able to tell but well ironically I've had the same look on my face." Her voice was soothing almost like a purr by a mischievous one at that. After all Cheshie was just a little bit mischievous even when helping. Kitty laughed softly when the other asked her where she was. "I don't think you crazy at all really. I've had more than a few people ask me that." There was a pause in her words as she went through the list of names and places that she had gotten since she came here. "According to what I've gather be it not much. This place is called Shadow. I have no clue what year it is just yet mostly cause i don't read the paper. I'm sure someone is bound to answer that for you. That's pretty much all I've been able to gather since I came her. Well and a job or two." She lived where she could find shelter and her clothes well she'd picked them up around and about. After all cat's went through garbage when they needed too. "The names Kitty or Cheshie." It had been the first time in awhile that Cheshie had used the name Cheshie.
